The 25th EDISS Scientific Day will take place on Thursday 12 November 2020

SPECIAL EDITION

THIS YEAR THE JEDISS IS TRANSFORMING INTO eJEDISS!

2 exceptional speakers:

Dr. Samuel VERGÈS (Laboratoire HP2, Grenoble)

Pr. Bruno LINA (Laboratoire de Virologie Est des Hospices Civils de Lyon)

In the context of the health crisis, we are still imposed with restrictions. The eJEDISS 2020 is however maintained and will take place on November 12 in the morning by videoconference.

PRESENTATION

The EDISS scientific day is organized every year, in the form of a scientific symposium bringing together the main players of school-life (doctoral students, supervisors, members of the school's scientific council ...).

The objectives of this day are twofold :

  • Welcome newly enrolled first-year doctoral students, to present them to the modus operandi of the doctoral school, and answer any of their questions regarding the progress of their thesis. In addition, they will elect their two representatives to the school's scientific council. The attendance of all doctoral students registered in the first year, accompanied by their supervisor (s), is therefore compulsory.
  • The opportunity for doctoral students to present their work with oral communications or posters. It is also and above all an opportunity for doctoral students to interact with their colleagues or members of the school administration. As a reminder : EDISS doctoral students must participate with a presentation (oral or poster) at least once during their thesis during this scientific day.

As a reminder : EDISS doctoral students must participate with a presentation (oral or poster) at least once for this scientific day during their thesis.

SPECIAL EDITION

We suggest that you present your work in the following forms of your choice :

Oral presentation :

Record your speeches directly on your Power Point. The presentation should not exceed 10 minutes. The commented Power Point will be sent to 2 members of the jury who will have been assigned to you, as well as to the moderator attached to your jury. Each jury will choose a winning presentation which will win a prize, and which will be announced at the end of the JEDISS. A question and answer session will take place by videoconference between the jury and the doctoral student. To participate to this contest, please submit an abstract before the 13th of September (see the tabs "Instruction deposits" and "Submit an abstract").

OR

e-posters :

Record your speech of 2 minutes maximum on your Power Point. This should not exceed 3 slides. A question and answer session will take place directly between the jury and the doctoral student by videoconference. To participate to this contest, please submit an abstract before the 13th of September (see the tabs "Instruction deposits" and "Submit an abstract").

Once again, FLI will financially support 2 awards in the Imagery category, 1 e-poster award and 1 oral presentation award.

And we offer 2 types of photo contests :

Photo imagery competition :

Send a photo with the theme of medical imagery. The winning photos will receive a prize and/or be displayed on the EDISS website.

"Extra category" competition :

Send a photo in the theme "Being a scientist during quarantine". The winning photos will be displayed on the EDISS website.

PLEASE NOTE : participation in the photo competition does not validate the presentation that the doctoral student must make at least once during his thesis: it is the participation in the e-poster and the oral presentation that counts.
